FAQ
Why should kids join Limestone Juniors?
Juniors is a fun introduction to strength and conditioning for those ages 10-13. The kids will start to learn the basic movements of squatting, deadlifting, overhead pressing, bounding, jumping and running; movements that we do every day in life. We will give them proper technique patterns to apply, whether they are playing other sports or just developing proper spatial awareness. It is necessary that they practice these movements since they are the foundation for daily activities, but at Limestone, we do this while reinforcing the value of having fun.
Will they go heavy?
We will not have Juniors “max out” or go too heavy. This program is about proper instruction and teaching athleticism. They will learn how to use barbells and other pieces of equipment (kettlebells, rowing machines) while prioritizing safety. Juniors workouts will use a low weight with high repetition (for example doing 4 sets of 10 reps) to reinforce movement.
Will it effect their growth or cause injury?
Using weights will not have a negative impact on our kid's growth. This idea is based on inaccurate research. Juniors will always have coach supervision while learning to do movements correctly to avoid injury. Safety is the top priority in our program.
